A Little Bit About Whats to Follow

The following content, with exception of my GCSE final piece, is all work that I have created over the past two years doing Graphic Design at York college. I hope this gives you an insight into what my full portfolio looks like. I feel that studying at Manchester Metropolitan is a great opportunity for me and anyone in a creative field. I feel I have the potential to achieve high and I intend to do so. I have always been practical and problem solving from a young age and it has always followed me as well as a creative upbringing helping this allot, as my mother was a graphic designer, made leaded glass and is now a kitchen and bathroom designer and my dad started working at the railway and now owns his own metal and fabrications company. The chance to improve my skills and to learn brand new ones is invaluable to me. After completion of the course in intend to either already be in the industry or find a career in it immediately after. I am in particular looking forward to working with jewelry after making a simple silver ring in year ten, The delicacy attracted my perfectionist nature as well as designing and making furniture as I love nothing more than creating something that people will use and appreciate every day.
Thank you for taking your time to read this and to look through my online portfolio.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Anti-Smoking Posters

Here we have one of my pieces from my final project, a series of anti-smoking posters with an illustration of different body parts, above obviously is a heart with a simple, strongly worded caption.

Summer Holiday Work

Here is four extracts from the sketchbook I created over the summer 2010 before my second year that I later developed into my calendar

Calender

Our first project of the second year was to develop our summer work, which was a sketchbook to be filled of a subject of our choice, of which I chose York, after developing this we were assigned to create a final piece using our drawings and research on our subject. I chose to make a calendar, and here we have 4 of the 12 months as an example of my final piece.

New Scientist

This is the final project for the first year, we were briefed to create a front cover and contents page for a issue of 'New Scientist'.

Whitby Poem

Here is a small project we were given near the beginning of our first year of Graphic Design to write and illustrate a poem about the day we spent in Whitby as a class.
